"Throw-up" + Themes

After I had done the bulk of my design ethnography and research into Dominion Road I gathered all my insights, quotes and ideas I had picked up in my mind and visuallised them on a large whiteboard.
I then took post it notes and stuck one to each bit of content on the board - categorising them into security/perception of safety, infrastructure, weather, interaction, community, lighting, wayfinding, entertainment and comfort.
I took a step back and looked at the themes I picked up, and realised connections could be made between them. I thought about what made people WANT to catch public transport, and depicted this with my themes below.
I think people feel positive in an activity where there is comfort + community (which were two of my themes). Therefore to improve public transport use at night a user will demand interaction, security, and confidence that these things exist.
At this stage I believe my underlying focus since project launch of interactive lighting, can fufill these three themes of opportunity.
