Today I finished off my second concept for tomorrows presentation - the smart street furniture idea.

Admittedly I was inspired by a system I saw in the London Design Museum, and I have decided to adapt this system to AT and Dominion Road, because the costs and hassle of buying and reconfiguring the system for Auckland would outweigh the cost of designing a similar one here.

I altered the design and look of the furniture, and added different fucntions to the system - namely the primary purpose of security, along with audio guides, unlockable seats, lightup maps, adjustable streetlight brightness, rubbish bin monitoring and traffic light crossing time adjustment for example.

This means my solution not only satifies my identified opportunity to help pedestrians who are firghtened or in danger, but also to cater for extreme users along Dominin Road such as the elderly, blind, sight impaired, and also foreigners and the general public who need assistance along Dominion Road.

Also been a good opportunity to practice with the Wacom (day 2).
