Back to the Drawing Board..

After the critique presenting to the panel of three AUT lecturer and Streve Wreen from AT I was feeling very disappointed and annoyed at myself. I'd put a lot of time into my presentation boards and my ideas - which was perhaps my downfall in my over complicated and slightly extreme concepts.
Perhaps I didn't talk well enough, perhaps my ideas just weren't appropiate?
In reflection
I listed the positives and negatives of my critique as found in the image below, then asked how I could improve?
Interestingly the panel found my opportunity statement and insights on "what makes people feel safe" valuable, but my ideas didn't match up. I re-evaluated my identified opportunity and realised a successful solution will not make people safe, but make them FEEL safe. Any security measure adapted to Dominion Road will only act as an admittance to a problem, but a more subtle simple solution will make people feel safe through interaction, confidence and distraction.
In reflection I have to be thankful for having a rough time, as it really opened my eyes up to what kind of solution will be both viable for AT commercially and also make a decent impact on the community. I'll be going back to some of my simple ideas that I know will gain a better reception and generate new solutions.
